A tree blew over and blocked a busy road in the storm that hit Preston last night (July 26).
The tree fell into Leyland Road, Penwortham near Pristine Car Wash & Valeting Centre at around 9.41pm.
The post that included the pictures indicates that the tree narrowly missed several cars as it landed in the road. It also suggests that members of the public were working together to try and clear the fallen tree.
No weather warnings were issued by the Met Office in the build-up to the storms that saw lightning splash across the Lancashire sky.
Thursday (27 July) is going to be sunshine and showers throughout the day – with a few brief interludes. Temperatures will reach 18 degrees by late afternoon.
Friday starts decent with sunshine through until lunchtime – before the rain arrives and we’re in for a damp evening.
