There’s a number of new long distance runs coming to Preston.
The Rotary Club of Preston Guild is calling on Prestonians to lace up their trainers for an early September half marathon, 10k and fun run.
Starting and finishing at the Dolphin Inn at Longton the route will take in Penwortham and plenty of flat roads.
Rotarian Neil Fletcher is the man behind the runs along the Ribble Way.
He said: “The views are fantastic and it’s a really good run.
“So I thought why not open it up to regular runners and the local community who might want an incentive to get out there and take up running, the fact that any surplus will benefit charities is an added bonus.”
“The run is a trail run so it’s over stiles, on grass and possibly mud, we’ve had tremendous support and encouragement and already have over 30 volunteers helping on the day.”
