A Preston Italian restaurant has confirmed its closure is temporary.
Tiggis in Guildhall Street has clarified its closure is due to toilet troubles.
Originally a sign on the door read ‘This restaurant is now closed for business apologies for any inconvenience’.
The restaurant initially refused to confirm the reason for closure but has now replaced the sign and clarified the reason for shutting its doors.
A new note states ‘Due to unforseen circumstances the restaurant has unfortunately closed down. We will be reopening shortly.’
A spokesman for the restaurant confirmed to the Lancashire Post they would be re-opening once work was complete. No timescale has been given at this stage.
Tiggis has served the city since 1978.
It was feared the restaurant was closed permanently, joining Spice of Bengal in being a mainstay of the city’s restaurant scene to close.
