The Wizard of Oz Theatre made its way to Winckley Square Garden’s in Preston City Centre to put on a show for everyone to enjoy.
On Saturday (8 July) and Sunday (9 July), the gardens were set up with different areas representing different locations in the story, including the Emerald City, The Tin Man’s house and, of course, the yellow brick road.
The family event meant that children of all ages, accompanied by an adult, could come along to watch the performance as they retold the famous tale.
The event was held by Events Live, who were in partnership with Preston City Council and Preston Business Improvement District, to bring the first event of its kind to the gardens.
Families were taken along a journey through the gardens by the yellow brick road.
Children were encouraged to take part in the show and interact with characters throughout the journey, helping them to get involved and have a lot of fun.
The weather over the weekend turned out to be wonderful, with sunshine beaming over the gardens, making it a thoroughly enjoyable show for everyone.

There were four performances held altogether, taking place at 10am and 1pm on both days.
The live theatre show was dubbed as a ‘magical interactive children’s outdoor theatre experience’.
Events Live owner Holly Wignall said: “I am delighted that the children and adults who attended loved the ‘Tales of Oz’ performances and we would be really happy to run further similar events in the future.
“Winckley Square gardens are perfect for children’s events and we will be looking into other children’s stories which would work there.”
Tickets for children were priced at £12 each with £3 for each accompanying adult.
Prices on the day were £18 with each adult £5.
