A beer festival returns to Fulwood this weekend – and here’s the run down on what’s happening and when.
There will be a wide range of cask beer, craft ales, lagers, ciders, gin and prosecco to sample, as well as live music, tasty food, touch rugby and networking at the Preston Grasshoppers ground in Lightfoot Lane.
Hopfest 2017 will be boasting a huge variety of beverages with over 50 cask ales, 4 craft beers and 26 ciders on offer, as well as a dedicated gin and prosecco bar.
Beer connoisseurs will be interested to know that a brand new cask ale called ‘Half Cut,’ brewed by Farmyard Ales in Cockerham, will be making it’s debut at Hopfest.
Cuckoo Gin, produced by the Brindle Distillery here in Lancashire, is also tipped to be a hot favourite on the gin and prosecco bar.
You can see a full ale list on the Hoppers website.
There is a great mix of music on the Friday and Saturday at Hopfest and the line up has been curated by local funk and soul favourites The Templebys.
Friday kicks off at 6pm with a disco, soul and funk DJ set, before the Templebys take the stage at 7.30pm, followed by Atomic Brass at 9pm. The party will continue into the night with a Northern Soul DJ set keeping the punters moving.
A full day of music follows on the Saturday, with Deepwater Blue, Porter and May, Blues Blagger and Sabotage providing an eclectic mix of indie, neo-psychadelic, blues, and rock. The night ends with an indie/90s disco which is guaranteed to get the crowd moving.
