Two lanes reopened on M55 near Preston after overturned vehicle crash

Delays of more than 40 minutes are being experienced on the M55 near Preston.

A crash between Junction 1 and Junction 3 on the motorway towards Blackpool is causing significant delays.

Two lanes were shut due to the overturned vehicle on Sunday (18 June). Lancashire Police said all lanes were re-opened shortly after 5.30pm on Sunday.

It’s causing a knock-on effect to the M6 and the Broughton roundabout.

Delays are already building on the M55 eastbound as sun-seekers leave Blackpool.

The motorway is due to be cleared around 6.30pm according to Highways England but significant delays are expected into Sunday evening.
