A new Greggs is set to come to Preston.

The bakery giant is eyeing up opening in Fulwood – opposite Royal Preston Hospital.

Hospital visitors and staff in need of a steak bake will be able to stroll across the road for one.

The former Sharoe Green dry cleaners in Sharoe Green Lane would be converted into the new Greggs.

New roller shutters would be installed at the front of the bakery, a planning application has been submitted for these and new air conditioning units.

A Greggs spokeswoman said: “We’re looking into the possibility of opening a new shop in Fulwood later this year, and will have more information about exactly where and when in the near future.”
