A moped rider from Bamber Bridge is in hospital receiving treatment after a crash on the outskirts of Preston.
Preston Road, the A6, close to the Doorway to Value Shop was closed for five hours on Thursday (1 June) evening.
The rider of a green moped, a 50-year-old man, collided with a white van at around 8.30pm.
He came off his bike and suffered fractured ribs, a broken arm, shoulder, collarbone and a collapsed lung.
The rider is being treated in Royal Preston Hospital and police say he is in a critical condition.
Lancashire Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.

Sergeant Andy Walton of the Roads Policing Unit said: “The moped rider remains in hospital in a critical condition with some extremely nasty injuries. We now want to piece together exactly what happened and would urge anybody who saw the incident, or perhaps saw either of the vehicles in the moments before the collision, to contact us as soon as possible.”
