A ‘house of terror’ attraction in Penwortham has been recognised as one of the best in the UK.

Run by the Walton family the charity Halloween event has become a cult event in Preston.

More than 3,000 visited during Halloween last year as the family put the horror house, in Howick Park Avenue, on for three nights.

They entered the 2017 Scarecon Scar awards and scooped the UK’s best home/charity haunt.

Mr Walton said: “It was fantastic to beat the competition and secure the number one spot for our Preston event.

“We’re bringing the attraction back again for this year and hoping to raise even more money for charity.”

Last year’s event raised £6,000 for Cancer Research UK.
