The latest step in the building of Preston’s new market structure has been taken.
A steel pillar – the last of those to be winched into place – forms the outside of the new market hall.
Preston City Council is preparing to demolish the current indoor market and a new glazed structure is being built under the grade-I listed outdoor market canopy.
Last week the pillars were hoisted into position by Conlon Construction who are leading the build of the new market hall.
Traders are being firmed up for the structure, which is due to be finished by Christmas.
