Penwortham’s annual community celebration returned and woudn’t be beaten by the weather.

Saturday’s procession through the town’s streets was dampened by the drizzle.

Floats and displays by schools and community groups brightened the day.

Performances took place throughout Saturday including the Gala being opened by the Mayor of Penwortham councilor Jim Patten.

The Gala queen was also crowned and a fun fair was on Hurst Grange Park.
