A driver has been taken to hospital following a crash in Ribbleton.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews to Longridge Road shortly after 9pm on Friday (23 June).

A car had hit a lamppost by the Red Scar industrial estate and the driver, a man, was trapped and injured inside the car.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to cut the roof off the car.

The man was lifted out, strapped to a stretcher and taken to Royal Preston Hospital by the North West Ambulance Service.
