A stretch of the canal at Preston is to be cleaned up by volunteers.
Residents living along Shelley Road are being invited to help spruce up the Lancaster Canal.
It’s part of the nationwide The Great Get Together – a campaign of events inspired by the memory of the MP Jo Cox who was killed in Yorkshire last year.
Volunteers who live near the canal are urged to meet at the entrance to the canal path in Shelley Road and Preston City Council is bringing materials and Canal and River Trust are briefing on wildlife and safety. You need to wear sensible shoes.
The clean up runs from 11am to 2pm on Saturday (17 June).
