The period of bail for four men arrested in connection with the One Connect partnership has been extended.

Four men – one of whom is understood to be current Lancashire County Council leader Geoff Driver – were arrested in May this year.

Lancashire Police made the arrests in Preston and Merseyside.

They centre on the partnership between the county council and the One Connect firm – which has now been wound up.

Four men, aged 72, 55, 58 and 56 were arrested in connection with perverting the course of justice.

They had been bailed until Monday 19 June.

Police confirmed there is now an extended bail date to Wednesday 23 August.
