A five-year-old has charged round a 5k course to raise money for a Preston hospice.

Little Maisie Smith took on the UCLan Colour Fun run in early May.

Donning her sunglasses she was pelted with paint and made it round the course to raise the cash for St Catherine’s Hospice based in Lostock Hall.

Maisie completed the run with her parents Anthony and Leona Smith who founded Preston-based Lantie Compliance Services and other staff members.

The St Pius X Prep School pupil in Fulwood was ‘very excited’ to take part in the run.

Her mum Leona said: “The run was great fun, it was brilliant for kids. During the run, everyone’s spirits were kept high by regular paint stations keeping the colour topped up.

“Maisie loved the run and raised a fantastic total of £205. She can’t wait for the next Colour Fun run!”
