A staple of Preston’s spring and early summer has returned with beer guzzling gusto.
With more than 150 ales and ciders to try the Continental’s 17th Beer Festival has seen the pub at bursting point.
Under sunny skies there was much perusing of kegs and munching of hot dogs as one of the city’s biggest beer festivals took place.
Starting on Thursday (11 May) there was still plenty of ale left on the Saturday.
Bands were just starting up on Saturday afternoon and the tipple tent was packed.
Number 49 – in the beer barn – Reaper made by Ghost brewery. At 4.4 per cent Reaper is a sessionable hop sauce with a strong aroma with buckets of lemon and ruby grapefruit.

You can still try to get in one the door, but it’ll soon be one in, one out.
Sunday (14 May) the festival continues and it is free entry. If there’s any beer left!
