Hungaricum seems to have had a slow start… It opened earlier in the year with what seemed to be quite sporadic opening times before moving across the road to 218 Ribbleton Lane. Opening times have still been a bit strange… I’ve not seen it open after 8pm yet but this may change if they become busier. Menus are being printed and their Just Eat order and delivery service begins this week.
The menu includes pizza, burgers, sides, salads, drinks and the Hungarian Specialities! I also spotted some cakes in a cabinet but on this occasion, surprisingly didn’t get any! ??
Ordering was quick and easy, with a friendly service and the food was ready to go within 15 minutes. We were unsure of portion sizes as it was the first time we’d tried it so we went for two Langos with cheese and sour cream and two Gyros, but one Langos would’ve been fine for 2 people as we saved one for breakfast the next day with bacon! Bonus!
Langos (deep fried flatbread) with cheese and sour cream
I was a little confused by the gyros as I thought this was a Greek dish but inside Hungaricum, it shows a photo saying ‘Hungarian Gyros,’ the difference I think, being no pitta, just a tasty spiced Chicken, salad, chips and a sauce of your choice.

The cheese oozed out of the Langos and the food was delicious so if you weren’t Hungary.., (?) these pics might change that! Mmmmm!
Drool!
The total price was just £13, £6.50 each and there was more than enough. Very happy with the price!
My review is only based on 2 of the items on the menu and a lower service rating given due to the opening times but we’ll definitely be going back and trying more of the Hungarian specialities… And the cakes! ?
