Privately-owned stables were destroyed last night (May 28) in a fire that police are treating as suspicious.
Firefighters attended the scene just after 10pm with smoke visible as far as Fulwood.
Two goats died in the fire at the stables off Sulby Drive in Ribbleton. A horse was led to safety by the owners.
The stables, owned by Veronica Hehir, have been completely destroyed as a result of the fire. A nearby caravan was also destroyed.

Shannon, granddaughter of Veronica, said: “We were in the house and one of the neighbours banged on door and said the stables are on fire so we ran down.
“It was huge, there was petrol cans exploding and everything.
“My dad ran straight into the fire and managed to rescue the horse but the goats were on fire the poor things and the roof had collapsed in their stable, so my mum took the horse to my garden and that’s when the fire engine came.”
