Preston North End owner Trevor Hemmings has seen his wealth increase.
The racing tycoon who has seen three Grand National Winners is now worth £850million.
This is an increase of £125million on the previous 12 months.
Hemmings, who is based in the Isle of Man, is the ninth richest person in the North West.
The title of richest person in the North West goes to the seventh Duke of Westminster Hugh Grosvenor who inherited his family’s property empire following his father’s death in August last year. He is worth £9.5 billion.
Figures come from the annual Sunday Times Rich List, which outlines how the North West has the most billionaires outside London. The guide compiles the 1,000 wealthiest people in Britain.
Hemmings is investing in PNE to build a new Academy and training ground in the Ingol area – using part of the Ingol golf course. Plans were unveiled in March and have been met with mixed opinion by nearby residents.
