Police arrest woman during Fishergate road closure

Traffic was halted on Preston’s main shopping street during Thursday lunchtime.
Preston Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of theft.
It followed an incident in the Boots store in Fishergate.
Shoppers reported seeing police vans and cars blocking Fishergate at around 1.30pm on Thursday (4 May).
Preston Bus diverted a number of services during the incident as number 13, 75/75A, 80 and 89 were diverted via the Ringway.

Fishergate has now fully re-opened.
No further details are known about the arrest.
