A man has died following the crash on the A583 on Monday evening.
The 32-year-old pedestrian died following a collision with a Peugeot Partner van.
The van was heading eastbound on Watery Lane when it was involved in the incident at around 5.30pm.
It happened close to the junction with Pedders Lane and saw the road closed for around four and a half hours on Monday night.
The man from the Warton area suffered significant injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment but later died.
Police say the driver of the Peugeot, a 57-year-old man, was not injured. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Eyewitnesses say paramedics were trying to resuscitate the pedestrian at the scene before he was loaded into an ambulance.
Preston Police have begun an appeal for witnesses to the incident.
Sergeant Steve Hardman said: These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.
“We are appealing for information and would urge anyone who can assist with our enquiries to come forward.
“If you witnessed the collision and have not yet spoken to police, please contact us.”
