There’s going to be Panic on the Streets of Preston as hundreds of Prestonians are invited to dance in the style of Morrissey.
Open flowing shirts and gladioli will be provided for the gloomy city dwellers to join the artistic performance.
The Morrissey Dancers is the brainchild of Derelict Theatre who are holding rehearsals for budding dancers – and you don’t need any experience, other than being able to raise your knees to The Smiths without the aid of a couple of pints.
Charlote Berry from the theatre group said: “According to a recent article in The Independent then Preston is the fourth unhappiest place to live in the UK.
“We are keen to combine Morrisey’s northern gloom with uplifting Morris Dancing, bringing the community together to celebrate our northern city.”
