Preston saw nine county councillors elected during Friday (5 May) as the results were counted in the local elections.

We had live updates from Preston Guild Hall as the city had its say on the political make up of Lancashire.

Labour held power at County Hall, thanks to an arrangement with the Lib Dems and other parties, but there is no one with a true majority. The Tories now have one.

How did Preston vote? How did Lancashire vote? And many see this as a litmus test for the June general election.

Both the Labour and Conservative party leaders in Lancashire held Preston seats.

Counting began from 10am and we expect the results to come thick and fast. Updates will appear below.
