Huge fire at abandoned Old England pub

Fire crews were called following a huge fire at a Ribbleton pub this afternoon (May 3).

Black smoke was seen across Ribbleton Lane with both Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and police called the scene, according to witnesses.

A worker was burning rubbish at the rear of the Old England pub when the fire got out of hand.

It is not yet known what damage has been done to the building as a result of the fire.

The Old England is a pub which closed in 1999 and has remained closed since.
