Fire crews worked to rescue a pony that had become trapped in a ditch in Hoghton yesterday afternoon (May 6).
Two appliances from Blackburn and Darwen attended the scene at around 2.33pm in Station Road in Hoghton.
Firefighters used an animal rescue kit, with guidance from a vet, to successfully rescue the pony from the ditch.
They worked for approximately a hour and a half.
A statement from Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines from Darwen and Blackburn attended a incident involving a pony stuck in a ditch.

“Firefighters used large animal rescue kit on the fire engine and they worked with a vet to rescue the pony.
“Firefighters were at the scene for approximately one and a half hours.”
