A major road in Preston is to be shut for three consecutive Sundays.
The A59 at Brockholes Brow will be closed from 4am to 6pm to allow Lancashire County Council to complete what it says is ‘necessary works’.
Traffic is to be stopped during Sunday 7 May, Sunday 14 May and Sunday 21 May.
The closure is to the eastbound carriageway only and a diversion is to be put in place.
The temporary closure of the road is to allow work to dangerous trees and gully clearances.

Traffic will still be able to use the A59 coming into Preston city centre with one lane due to be open at all times.

For those wanting to access the M6 southbound the diversion route takes you into Blackpool Road, up to Ribbleton Lane and joining the M6 through the Bluebell Way roundabout and onto the M6 at Junction 31A.
For those wanting to head northbound on the M6, you’ll need to come down New Hall Lane into the city centre and then out onto the A6, follow signs for Hoghton along Cuerdale Lane and turn into Vicarage Lane and join the A59 heading for the Tickled Trout roundabout and can join the M6 in both directions.
