One of Preston’s busiest link roads is to be shut for seven nights during a four-week period in the summer.
Blackpool Road near Deepdale Retail park is to be completely resurfaced by Lancashire County Council.
It is the latest in a series of road closures affecting the city in the coming months, with the Brockholes Brow closure having started on Sunday (7 May).
The stretch of Blackpool Road from the junction with St Gregory’s Road through to New Hall Lane is affected. The junction with Ribbleton Lane will also be closed off.
When closed the roadworks will take place in Blackpool Road from 6pm to 6am at some point between Monday 24 July and Friday 17 August.
A diversion is being put in place, with drivers advised to use New Hall Lane, the Ringway and Deepdale Road to access the affected area.

It is not known exactly which dates the road is to be shut.
Similar roadworks are due to take place in Fylde Road and Aqueduct Street in the coming months.
