Axe found in back of car after police pursuit

Lancashire Road Police seized a vehicle for forensics after an axe was found on the back seat.

Officers made the discovery after a car was stopped in Ribbleton due to the vehicle having false plates.

The incident occurred in Glen View Court at around 12.25am this morning (May 5) and three offenders fled the scene.

Police believe the vehicle, a Vauxhall Vectra, was stolen.

No arrests have been made.
