Preston Police have released CCTV pictures of the incident where a large industrial bin was set on fire.
The arson incident is thought to have been carried out by a group of teenagers the police say are responsible for causing ‘considerable anti-social behaviour in the area’.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the rear of RK Sweets near the to the car park of SPAR and the Plungington Community Centre at midnight on Wednesday 12 April into Thursday 13 April.
PC Coupe said: “A large industrial bin was set on fire which had it not been extinguished could have spread to nearby buildings. The images show the youths responsible and we are appealing for any persons with knowledge of this group.
“The group involved did not only start this fire but then believed it fun to play with it: placing their hands in and out which could have resulted in some significant injuries.”
