Police have caught a driver doing 70mph up Brockholes Brow – ahead of the average speed cameras coming in.
Lancashire Road Police shared dashcame footage showing the 40mph speed limit being broken and up into a 30mph zone as it approaches New Hall Lane.
The stretch of the A59 from the Tickled Trout junction is due to receive average speed cameras as London Road has.
Footage shows the silver car doing 49mph as it approaches the base of Brockholes Brow heading into the city.
It accelerates up to reach 70mph before maintaining 60mph as it moves into the 30mph zone on Satuday (29 April) evening. The driver has been served with a court summons.
The stretch of the A59 saw two Preston girls lose their lives in April last year when they were struck by a car, the driver of which has since been set to appear in court accused of causing death by dangerous driving.
