A teenager from Preston has been crowned as the first ever Britain’s Junior Miss.
Elli Westwood, 15, from Preston, won the award for her charity work and having spent the year as Junior Miss PrestonĀ – shadowing the current Miss England Elizabeth Grant.
Miss Westwood said: “The whole day of rehearsing and performing at the night was amazing.
“I would definitely put it up there as one of the est experiences of my life, if not the best.
“I have met friends for life and learnt so much from all the other girls.
“I am over the moon to have won. The support from the other girls really made my night.”
Elli’s fundraising work has seen more than Ā£5,500 raised for children’s charity Variety who work to help disabled and disadvantaged children.

Last weekend Elli handed her Junior Miss Preston crown over and now has a year ahead touring the UK for the Miss BritainĀ duties.
She said: “I can’t wait to get stuck into the next 12 months with my national title and I am so happy I did Preston proud and brought the crown back to Preston. Britain isn’t going to know what’s hit it this year!”
