UCLan‘s midwifery teamĀ are holding 10 fundraising events to raise as much money as they can for the Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death) charity.

The campaign, called #challenge10, involves the midwifery team, students and the midwifery society at UCLan in an effort to hostĀ 10 events over 10 months.

Sands is a UK charity and helpsĀ to support people who have been affected by the death of a baby; working with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care.

They also promote improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babiesā€™ lives.

The next event being held is a zumbathon on 30 April at Ashton Community Science College, where four local instructors will doĀ zumba fun from 11am.

You can purchase tickets to the zumbathon for Ā£6 via the donation page, but it is requested that you leave your name so they can track who has paid.

Alternatively you can pay Ā£8 on the door, however kids and spectators can attend for Ā£1.

The team has held several events already including a polar swim at Salford Quays, and hopes to hold more events including Yorkshire 3 Peaks, a bikathon, sponsored walks, colour runs, a swimathon and a charity ball in November.

For more updates about the ZumbathonĀ you can follow the Facebook Page or donate via the Just Giving page.
