A community garden helping military veterans is celebrating its fourth birthday.

Dig In North West has two events running as it marks the occasion.

An open day is being held at Ashton Park to showcase the continued work being done by the veterans – and their mancave!

A tombola and cake stall are being set up as well as a chance to buy plants grown on site.

The open day takes place on Saturday (29 April) from 10am to 4pm and the garden is not normally open to the public.

Let’s Grow Preston are also hosting a Gardener’s Question Time and demonstrations, with refreshments available from Cafe Diem in the park.

The night before there’s a Dig In Picnic Quiz Night at Grimsargh Village Hall.

Those wanting to take part need to bring their own supper, a beverage of choice and it is £3 per person.

Teams are no more than six people and all proceeds go towards supporting military veterans.

The quiz is on Friday (28 April) with a 7.30pm doors and 8pm start.
