Man in hospital after Preston city centre collision

A man fled the scene after being detained by police is in hospital after colliding with a taxi.

Preston Police shut Walker Street in the city centre while dealing with the incident.

Police had initially been called at 10.35pm on Wednesday (19 April) to reports of an altercation in Warwick Street.

Three men were detained but one man made off and was involved in a collision with a taxi in Walker Street.

The man suffered injuries to his head and stomach and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
