A long stretch of a busy Preston road is to be shut for a few days during the course of a month.
Fylde Road from the Adelphi roundabout to just before its junction with Aqueduct Street is to be closed off.
Lancashire County Council says the road, which is used by a number of bus routes and thousands of motorists each day, needs major resurfacing work.
The road is to be closed from 7am to 5pm for a number of days between Saturday 10 June and Monday 10 July. It is not known which days these will be at this stage.
The county council states: “With surface dressing the process should take one to two days but the process is affected by weather and plant problems so a one month period is required.”
Fylde Road will be shut in both directions during this time.
A diversion is being put in place.
If you’re heading into the city, you’ll need to go via A5883 Water Lane, to West Strand, into Marsh Lane and then into Corporation Street.

For those wanting to head out then its down Corporation Street, onto the Ring Way, into Marsh Lane, Hartington Road, Strand Road, West Strand and then Water Lane.
Note: This post has been updated as we originally received a traffic order outlining a closure for one month, without the information regarding the surface dressing. This has now been amended.
