Fives reopened on Guildhall Street at the end of March and we went to have a look inside the renovated building ahead of Easter weekend.

The multi-millionaire, who also owns and operates Preston Guild Hall, secured the building after coming to deal with its previous owner Edgar Wallace.
Mr Rigby has now leased the bar to London-based operator Shaun Patchett who runs Hudson’s House – an upmarket bar in Soho.

Mr Rigby said: “I am pleased we’ve found a serious London operator to take a long lease on Fives.
“London operators are looking for the next city, and especially one that’s on the up, so Shaun choosing Preston can only be good for the city.”

There had been plans from Edgar Wallace to make the Fives build into a casino.
Mr Rigby said: “We want to open a casino in the Guild Hall but we also knew there were plans for the old Fives to be a casino.
“So we drew up a proposal to work together with the current owner of what used to be Fives to buy that building and so we can apply for a casino licence in Preston’s Guild Hall.”
Built in 1878, the building is grade II listed and was the former Preston Conservative Club.
Fives now offers a grill menu including steaks, wings, piri piri chicken, salads and more.
Cocktails are two for £10 Sunday- Thursday and until 7pm on Friday and Saturday.
Fives opens every day at 11.30am. It closes at 11.30pm Monday to Wednesday, 2am Thursday and Friday, 4am on Saturday and 3am on Sunday.
