It was a case of one day like this may see their career right as students got the chance to drum with a top indie drummer.
Elbow drummer Richard Jupp joined Preston’s College for an afternoon to put on a percussion masterclass and do a Q&A with the pupils.
Each of the students got to perform one-on-one with Richard on drum kits positioned around him.
Jupp, who has 25 years experience with the Bury-based based, is part of a charity called More Music who deliver workshops, training, performances and festivals.

Music tutor at Preston’s College said: “It was such a privilege to have Richard come to the College and inspire our students. His skills as a drummer are phenomenal and he’s forged a successful career in a competitive industry.
“The music industry is notoriously difficult to break into yet its extra enrichment activities like these that show our students what can be achieved with passion and hard work. The sector contributes £billions to the UK economy each year and our learners go on to do amazing things with some touring the world with bestselling bands and artists.”
