A hammer-wielding man is being sought by police following a raid at a petrol station in Ingol.
AdvertisementTag Lane petrol station was targeted on Monday night by a man who had ‘very blue eyes’ according to Preston Police.
Around 9.40pm on Monday (6 March) a man entered the shop at the BP garage brandishing a large hammer.
The cashier was threatened and the man made off with the contents of the till.
Police have released a CCTV picture of a man they wish to speak to.
He is described as white, around 5’11”, of slim build and with very blue eyes.
He was wearing a black waterproof jacket with the hood pulled over his face, black tracksuit pants, black balaclava with just his eyes showing, black trainers and black gloves.
DC Justin Singleton, of Preston CID, said: “This incident happened at a busy petrol station and was understandably terrifying for the cashier. He has been left extremely shaken and we are determined to find the person responsible.
“We would now like to identify the man in the CCTV images as part of our enquiries. He is thought to have very blue eyes which may be quite distinctive.
“We would also like to talk to anyone who was in the immediate vicinity of the petrol station at the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious.
“If you have any information about this incident, please contact us as soon as possible.”
