House fire in Preston last night ‘believed to have been started deliberately’

Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service were called to a house fire last night (March 7) that they believe was started deliberately.

Two appliances from Preston attended the scene at Ruskin Street in Preston at around 9.06pm.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

No injuries or rescues were reported as a result of the fire.

A statement from Lancashire Fire & Rescue said: “Two fire engines from Preston attended a house fire on Ruskin Street.

“Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire which is believed to have been started deliberately.

“No injuries or rescues were reported.”
