A former tapas restaurant is has opened as a new co-working space.
Society 1 in Cross Street offers office space for the self-employed or small businesses.
Alongside desks there’s meeting rooms to hire and the inside of the former restaurant has been given a major overhaul.
There’s also a lounge area with a pool table and areas to chill out and get a drink.
Society 1 is giving away 100 free day passes which includes free tea, coffee and a hot desk.
Plans for the building were lodged in October for what used to be DukPond, and previously the Alpenhof restaurant – which was owned by Society1’s co-founder Catarina King.
The office space is to be formally opened on Wednesday 29 March with Lancashire Enterprise Partnership chairman Edwin Booth cutting the ribbon during an Open Day.
The co-working space has a community membership fee of £10 per month giving discounted day rates, with 14 people already signed up.
Day rates start at £30 per day and go up to £245 per month for a permanent desk.
