Prestonians have been warned to check their bank accounts after a card skimming device was found at a city centre cashpoint.

Preston Police have removed what is thought to be a card scanner from a cash machine in Lancaster Road.

The TSB cashpoint had the skimming device fitted to it.

PCSO Stephen Connolly said: “Can I ask anyone out in the city centre to be vigilant around cash point.

“We think think this is some sort of skimming device.

“Please be careful and report any other suspicious devices around cash machines to us on 101.”
