Kay Purcell, a TV star from Leyland, is courageously sharing her journey whilst fighting cancer to help raise awareness of the disease and its effect on people and their families.
The actress, who has starred in many popular UK TV shows such as Tracy Beaker, Waterloo Road, Emmerdale and more recently Most Awkward, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer earlier this year.
Kay is now sharing her journey by posting videos, images and blogs on social media to show her own battle of the disease that many women suffer with yet stories aren’t always heard.

The journey is being shared with the help of Kay’s friends, who will play a big role in distributing her journey.
Ryan Anthony, a friend of Kay’s, is helping her by posting and managing a large proportion of posts to the social media campaign.
Ryan said: “I’m helping by running it from behind the scenes to take the stress away from Kay.
“Kay had been approached to do the story through the TV but decided that she would not have control of the content and she wants the videos and written accounts as raw as possible.
“When we film anything it’s all done on the most basic of equipment and nothing is edited out.
“She wants to show that her life away from the camera is just a normal person, a mum to her children and friends with everybody around her.
“We know social media is one of the biggest networks to get a message out.”
A feature length film will also be created of Kay’s battle in the hope that it will build strength and courage for the many women who may have to take this same path at some point in life, giving them the determination to come out of it fighting.
