A popular beer festival looks like it is not going ahead this year.

Preston Beer Festival, which has been running for 23 years, has called temporary time at the bar.

A post on the festival’s Facebook page says ‘due to the retirement of most of our festival committee’ they cannot confirm whether the festival will or will not go ahead.

Held in St Walburge’s church hall the four-day festival usually attracts hundreds of ale drinkers.

It is the city’s oldest beer festival and is normally held during the first weekend of March.
