A colourful dash to help raise money for charity is returning to Preston.
The University of Central Lancashire’s Colour Fun Run is to take place in May.
Paint-splashed runners are to make their way around a 5km course at the UCLan Sports Arena off Tom Benson Way.
Taking place on Saturday 6 May the runners are showered with brightly coloured powder paint as they go round.
Money raised by entering and sponsorship goes towards the Rock FM’s Cash 4 Kids appeal.

UCLan sports motivator Tom Ascroft said: The UCLan Colour Fun run has grown in popularity since it was launched in 2015 and we’re expecting even more people to sign up this year. Our aim has always been to encourage the local community to have fun and get active while raising money for a worthy local charity at the same time. I’m sure we’ll do Rock FM’s Cash 4 Kids proud this year.”
An early bird rate of £7.50 for UCLan staff and students is available now, and a £12.50 earlybird rate for the public. The earlybird rate is until Tuesday 14 February.
Cash 4 Kids charity manager Nikki Thompson said: “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering the UCLan Colour Fun run and cannot wait to see all the amazing fundraisers covered in clouds of rainbow paint. All money raised by Rock FM’s Cash for Kids stays right here in Lancashire to support disabled and disadvantaged children. We are very proud of our links with UCLan and this event will further strengthen our partnership.”
