Fire crews were called to Worden Park at around 5.48pm yesterday to rescue a woman who drove her mobility scooter into a stream.
Appliances from Leyland and Penwortham were joined by a boat from Preston after a passing jogger spotted the woman waist-deep in the stream.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue service told Michael Holmes at the LEP: “We helped the lady to safety before she was treated by paramedics.
“When she was released from the stream, she was put in a fire service 4×4 vehicle and transported to a waiting ambulance.”
