A section of a busy road in Preston has been closed during Tuesday evening.

Blackpool Road in Lea was shut heading out of the city after a car collided with a parked car.

Lancashire Road Police described the scene, close to St Bernard’s Primary School, as a ‘mess’.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines from Preston went to two cars involved in a RTC. Two people were out of the cars when we arrived and firefighters assisted these two people until paramedics arrived. We were there approximately 30 mins.”

The incident happened around 7pm on Tuesday (14 February).

Police also seized a people carrier being driven by an unaccompanied provisional licence holder in a separate incident at the same spot.
