Preston’s Georgian Square has been given another vote of confidence as a new tenant moves in.
One of the North West’s largest insurance brokers has decided to set up home in Winckley Square.
The County Group – which has 22 branches across the North West and Wales – has completed a major refurb of Rational House, number 32.
Deputy chief executive of the group Alastair Christopherson, who employ 250 people, is a Preston resident and has strong links with Preston Grasshoppers.
Retail branch director Andy Roden said: “We have long earmarked Preston as the ideal location for our expanding branch network. Preston is a thriving city, with a growing metropolitan area and excellent communication links. Businesses are generally thriving in the area and we see business growth and economic expansion in the region. The County Group would like to be part of this.
“We are already well connected with Preston Grasshoppers, not only on the sporting side but the business network that the general manager is cultivating there.
“The County Group are a growing insurance broker with our heartland in the North West, so Preston seemed the natural location for our new branch. Winkley Square is the perfect location with it being so central and close to estate agents, accountants, banks and other financial services.”
