A pensioner has been taken to hospital after a collision in Preston city centre.

The 91-year-old woman has a possible concussion and suspected fractured shoulder according to police.

Preston Police closed Tithebarn Street at the junction with Crooked Lane just after 12noon on Thursday (5 January).

It was closed from the junction with the Old Vicarage.

A car was involved in the incident but no arrests have been made. The road re-opened around 2.45pm.

The stretch of road has a plan from Lancashire County Council to become a bus-only lane in the coming months – although county councillor John Fillis has said the plan will be reviewed following strong criticism of the idea.
