Pensioner airlifted to hospital as crash closes rural Preston road

A pensioner has died following a crash on the outskirts of Preston.
AdvertisementCumeragh Lane between Whittingham and Longridge had been closed in both directions.
Preston Police say one vehicle was involved in the crash.
A man in his 80s, understood to be from Whittingham, was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital and police say he died from his injuries.

The incident happened shortly after 2pm and motorists were urged to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
