The old railway line is being uncovered Pic: Simon Holmes
Work has begun on the new tram line in Deepdale.
Plans for a test line for the Preston Trampower project were approved late last year after six years of back and forth.
Simon Holmes snapped these pictures of overgrown vegetation and trees being cleared.
A tram station and test line are being built at Deepdale Mill Road.
Network Rail has signs out at the Skeffington Road crossing explaining work to cut back vegetation is ongoing.

Mr Holmes said: “The old railway lines are now clearly visible from the crossing right up to the buffer at West View leisure centre.”
The test tram line will not take paying customers but will be used as a demonstration.
If successful further plans for the trams show it stretching out as far as BAE at Samlesbury.
